Islands of Elements

A representative of Islands of Elements contacted RPGee inquiring about a link exchange. The representative will be joining the site to promote the PbP game they have setup.

After looking over the site somewhat, I can tell that it's a very in depth game. Not only does it have a lot of content to browse, the players are active. A Wiki was just installed on the site to improve search capabilities and to allow members to contribute even moreso than they already do. Take the time to take a look!

From the site:

Welcome to Islands of Elements, a world of magic and wonder. Here you will find a high fantasy realm for roleplayers, creative writers, artists, and fantasy lovers alike. Our table of play is our forum and our technique is often called "play-by-post," although we use the term loosely. Here, we aren’t focused so much on the format of how we play. Our focus is the content itself. We are here for talented and upcoming authors to dive into something new and interactive. In order to achieve that goal, we have set up a system where anyone who joins can either write a story by themselves or with company. The stories can be anything to whimsical to world-changing.

Gloria Romana

From the creator of the original Calracia Republic, comes another RPG based in ancient Rome. This site has been recently created. The author is one of the most diligent and dedicated owner of an RPG that I've come across. His devotion to in depth, historical research ties together fantasy with the factual.

From the site:

In the year 68 CE, Imperator Tiberius Claudius Nero, most commonly known as Nero, committed suicide, and with him died the Julio-Claudian dynasty of Gaius Julius Caesar.  With no clear heir to the throne many powerful Romans began to move towards becoming the next Emperor of the mighty world power.  An unpopular Roman general named Galba killed many of his soldiers who rebelled against his attempts to become Emperor, and eventually took the seat near the end of that year.

That is, however, only how our history books have it.  The fact of the matter is, however, a man by the name of Publius Acilius Metellus, a military Tribune and a favorite amidst the army of Galba, killed his general in his sleep, and used the support of his soldiers to become the Imperator of Rome.

Having been brought up from nothing, Metellus read any book he could get his hands on, and was well aware that Rome was once a Republic, and had been intended to be so as well.  Upon receiving enough wealth and fame to ensure his family a good future, the Imperator Publius Acilius Metellus stepped down and did what many had talked about doing before him, he restored the Roman Republic.

Thus is the story of Gloria Romana, an ancient Roman world where anything can happen, and anyone can shape the future of the world's most glorious super power.  A world where the Gods were to be feared for their interventions with man, and great heroes were respected and honored.
