A Man's Life Has Many Crossroads

Alexander Dahzl - Life and History

Innocence Is A Fleeting Thing

Alexander Dahzl At The Age Of 13Alexander was brought into this world by a poor and destitute woman. His mother, to support his older siblings, resorted to prostitution to provide for her children. During this time of degradation, she had the utmost misfortune of bedding with a man that had an uncommonly high fortitude. Albeit she took precaution, it was not a strong enough wall to keep her from this unnamed man's unborn child.

A fifth child was too much of a strain and burden on his mother's welfare. Thus, after careful consideration and tear filled nights, she decided that she had to provide for her four first born. Having known the shadier side of life allowed her the displeasure of knowing some unsavory characters. One of said characters offered her a handsome sum of money for such a large and healthy child. Unwillingly, yet with forced circumstances, she said her last goodbye to her youngest son and sold Alexander to the man of the black market.

He was nurtured for the first few years of his childhood until he was about five years old. Once he reached that age, he was sold to yet another man. This slaveholder paid a pretty penny for Alexander since he was obviously of larger and stronger stock than the rest of the selection the trader had to offer.

The slaveholder did not make a poor choice. After several months of observing his most recent acquisition, he noticed that the young boy was growing at an alarming rate and had a keen aptitude to absorb information. Deciding that Alexander could prove to be a prodigy slave, his owner sent him away to study under the finest of private tutors and scholars. Yet, books and archaic facts were not the only things studied within the walls of the secret society; he was also trained physically in a vast array of corporeal tutelage.

Studying in this fashion until the age of 16, Alexander was then released back into the care of the slaveholder. He remained under the man's care for the next 10 years until the day that the now elderly man closed his eyes. Being without Master, he was left to wander the realms for a year with a small amount of money he managed to pilfer from the slaveholder's cache.

Innocence Lost

Alexander Dahzl At The Age Of 32Once that miniscule sum of capital had dwindled, he was left to meander the streets for several months. Down to his last penny, Alexander happened across a shady tavern on the lower east side of town - near the wharf and docks. While inside and after several pints of ale, he was approached by a burly and ragged man. Once again, his staggering size and frame had brought him to good fortune as the man offered him a position on his ship, "The Hired Hand".

The seafaring vessel turned out to be a motley group of mercenaries that sailed the seas in search of ports that held those willing to pay for the services offered by the crew. Alexander, over the next six years, became even more worldly and saw many exotic places. He quickly moved up in rank upon the ship and soon reported only to the captain himself.

The ship's last port was located on the shores of a place known as Rhy'Din. Hired by a wealthy businessman to "dispose" of his strongest competition, the group of mercenaries set off to do what they did best. Unfortunately, their best wasn't good enough for the hired guards of the targeted businessman, who had caught wind of his adversary's plans to knock him out of the picture. Alexander's shipmates and now friends were ambushed before they could even reach their intended goal. The group was decimated and what survivors of the battle soon found themselves lost in a strange land; Alexander was one of those fortunate enough to escape with his life.

"The Hired Hand" was seized and dismantled. The captain was duly put to death for his crimes here and within other countries, leaving Alexander to wander yet again with only the money in his pocket and the clothes he had worn on that fateful night. Rhy'Din became his newly found home for the time being until he could scavenge enough funds together to set sail once again.
